Diamond drilling employs an annular diamond-impregnated drill bit attached to the end of hollow drill rods to cut a cylindrical core of solid rock — utilised when drilling hard rock.

The LF90D Drill rigs were purchased new in 2007. They have worked in various regions of WA and the Northern Territory. The rigs and rod sloops are all on jack up bases — this minimises the manual handling of drill pipe.


This LF90D Drill rig was purchased new in 2008. The rig is track mounted for maximum manoeuvrability and access to difficult terrain in WA and the Northern Territory.


Purchased new September 2011. This universal rig has the capability of drilling in either RC or Diamond mode. Mounted on a 8X8 Tatra carrier for maximum site access.


Unique, truck mounted LF90’s provide an offroad diamond solution. Drillwest has been operating LF90D Diamond Drilling rigs since 2007, capable of drilling to depths of approximately 635m HQ, 940m NQ and 420m PQ.
